Matt Bower

Matt Bower is a genetic counselor who sees patients with inherited neurologic disease and also works in a diagnostic molecular genetics laboratory. He graduated with a B.S. in biology from the University of Notre Dame in 1995. He completed a master’s degree in genetic counseling at the University of Minnesota in 2001. He has worked at the University of Minnesota Medical Center, Fairview since 2001. His specific clinical interests include the genetics of movement disorders including ataxia, Parkinson disease, and Huntington disease. He is currently working to apply new genetic testing technologies to the complex field of neurogenetics. He sees patients in the ataxia clinic to review family history, discuss gene testing options, and interpret results of genetic testing.  Mr. Bower can be reached by telephone at 612-624-8948 or by email at mbower1@fairview.org.
